Okay, I think I finally have a grip on loading pics and vids again. I think the best way is for me to load two videos per post. Otherwise if I load more it takes FOR.EV.ER. Geesh....
Here's what's been happening in our world. I'll do my best to keep it in a nutshell :)
*The kids and I were in MI for about 4 weeks this Summer. Part of the time we were in Bay City, then over to Grand Rapids (we stayed in our "former" house on Fuller while we were in town), then to Irons, and back to GR again. Seth left to come home but the kids and I stayed on in GR for another week where we played played played (in our old house)!!! We packed up and left the house one final time before heading back up to Irons and then over to Bay City for the very last leg of our trip. We flew home on a Friday at the crack of dawn. Yes, I took both kids by myself on the plane. THANK GOD for a nice airline and a wonderful MIL who was able to accompany me to the gate of the plane!! My saving grace was that the flight was not full and we had an extra seat to ourselves! I will actually be glad once Sydney has to have her own ticket---holding on to a wiggly one year old was not the most convenient.
*Sydney had one heck of a vacation! Try to keep up: She learned how to walk, not just a few steps, but full on walking! She pushed through two molars in the back of her mouth AND had a growth spurt where she literally grew out of a pair of jammies! By the time we came home she fit in her new shoes that I suspected wouldn't fit her until the Fall. Oh, and she went to the Med Center just before we came home; she had a yeast infection AND an ear infection. WHEW!! What a Summer Sydney had!
*Kole had a blast on vacation and did a number of fun things including playing with his cousins Emma and Anna, rode in the combine with Uncle Tim for a pretty long time, and fell off a swing and got scraped up. He is starting school next week Thursday! We enrolled him a two morning per week 2-year old preschool program at a nearby church. We are ALL excited about that!
*Seth has been a golfing fool! Golf is cheap here this time of year b/c its so darn hot and humid and Seth is capitalizing on that savings. He's been to a number of courses including a "fancy" one south of here a bit with some guys from work. Seth has a friend coming to visit us this weekend from out of state and the two of them will be living and breathing and sleeping golf over the next few days :)
*Me: I've been taking care of all three of those kids! In all seriousness though, I've been taking tons of pictures with my new camera and even took a class for it. It's pretty overwhelming though so I'm leaving it on "auto" until I can spend some time getting to know it :)
*We sold our house on Fuller (YAY!) and put an offer on a home here in FL (double YAY!). We've had a couple set backs with the home here being a short sale so we are trying to do our best (me, that is) to be patient and have faith that it will all work out.
*It is HOT as heck down here! Not much going on at the playgrounds or anything since it's just too darn warm to do anything outside.
My sister in law, Keri, has a blog too and she does something pretty cool; she tells you little facts about the girls. Naturally, I want to copy her so here I go with little known fact about my kiddies :) Plus it's been SO LONG since any of you has read any updates on us!!
Kole:
Well, we all know he loves his Thomas and Friends trains but he is so involved with them he remembers where EACH one of his trains came from. Whether it be a family member, mom, dad, or even if we bought it at Toys R Us, he remembers.
On that note, he has a mind like a steel trap. He remembers EVERYTHING. I bought him a random bag of train stuff at a garage sale months ago and just today he told me that the random bridge came from that garage sale. He remembers that we bought his Cars band-aids at Walmart, and specific groceries from Target. He did NOT get that from me.
He's starting to make up little imaginary games with his trains and other toys. Its so cute to watch him!
He's a good big brother and helps me out a lot with Sydney. He's a good police officer when it comes to stuff going in Sydney's mouth, if she's banging on the sliding glass door, or anything else he knows is off limits to her.
He wants NOTHING to do with potty training. *sigh*
He loves jigsaw puzzles and can do them himself
He is now in love with the Smurfs
He's starting to talk back to mom and dad. That is getting nipped in the bud.
He hates vegetables and we have to force him to eat them.
Sydney:
Like I said before, she is now walking. I mean all over the place and she's quick!
She's still pretty darn tiny at 14 months. She only wears size 9 month clothes!
She loves hugs. Hugging dolls, mom, dad, brother, you name it.
She loves Toy Story 3 and all the characters in it. Her favorite is Woody. Someone gave Kole a Woody doll for Christmas....well, it's now Sydney's.
She loves little stuffed animals. She holds them and hugs them during the day. Sometimes she takes them for walks in her stroller.
She loves pigs. She has a favorite stuffed pig but for some reason she is attracted to pigs. I think it's b/c they are pink. She says, "ONK ONK" :)
She really wants to climb. She is constantly lifting her leg so she can climb on things. She's not strong enough but soon enough she'll be on the couch and probably on the train table
She loves to play with Kole! They play good together and I find them in the hallway laughing up a storm at least once a day. Usually it's Kole doing something to make her laugh and he just keeps doing it over and over again to make her scream.
She loves Thomas and dinosaurs. she says "TAAAA TAAAA" for Thomas and she puts up her hands and says "RRAARR" for a dinosaur.
She loves playing with her kitchen. she put her piggie in the oven this morning :)
She's starting to spoon feed herself! She's very interested in doing it by herself. She still needs help but you can see she's proud of herself when she scoops her food out of the bowl and feeds it to herself!
Seth:
He's lost about 20 lbs doing P90X this past Spring and Summer. He's stuck with it for 90 full days and hasn't missed many workouts!
He's goofy for golf again
He's working very hard and enjoying his job
Me:
I'm addicted to iced-tea and have to have one each day, usually at the Dunkin' Donuts or McDonalds drive thru. I think its the caffeine. I've also been addicted to those little flavor pouches you put in bottles of water. I found some that I LOVE.
I haven't crafted in forever it seems but I keep putting more and more projects on my "list". Hoping to get a small craft space at our new house.
I stay up way too late at night then lay in bed way too late in the morning. I need to nip that in the bud.
I've lost about 13 lbs doing P90X but have not been as committed as I should have been. Its tough but it really makes a difference (Hey, maybe if I got back to workouts I wouldn't stay up so late and sleep so late?!)
Okay, I'll have to start posting more regularly again. Hoping I can stick to that goal :) I might be posting more random pics and vids in future posts so I can get all caught up! Adios for now ;)
