Lazy Weekend

Nothing really all that new here. Lazy weekend. Kole has learned to say "uh oh" this weekend. If he drops something he'll say it over and over again. He tipped his tent over in the living room and it was an "uh oh" for several minutes.

Baby Davis is doing well; kicking away at my insides.

Seth has been a big help this weekend with Kole and with housework. He is now taking over regular grocery shopping duties for me since its too much for me to do these days. He took Kole with him to the store today. I think it might have been the first time in 17 months I was home alone---wait, I think maybe it was the second time. Looks like Seth has a new "helper" at the grocery store :)

Kole and his new toy (I found it at the Goodwill for $3.99 and it retails for $50 at the store! A few missing pieces but the price made up for it!!)

Kole is watching a video of his cousin Emma and at the end of her video he does the sign for "more" :)

New Stuff

Happy Valentines Day 2010! It has only been a couple of days since I posted some pics and vids but we had a fun weekend and I took some cute vids of Kole and there are a couple of "new" things, or should I say developments, in regards to Kole as well. First, Kole and I took a big outing to Meijer on Friday afternoon. It felt SO GOOD to get out of this damn house! Kole saw the big display of Valentines balloons. He was so excited to see the big bundle of balloons and kept pointing and babbling towards them. He wasn't whining though, just excited to see them so I caved and bought one for him. He clutched that thing the whole way home plus the drive thru for lunch and screamed when he had to release it for one second so I could get him out of his car seat. He held on to it for just under an hour I think. Its the best 3 bucks I spent in a long time.
Seth went fishing on Saturday morning and then later on we had lunch out and then off to Home Depot and a couple of other places. We purchased a nice brown paint color and when we got home we tested it out in the extra bedroom. Its dark but will look nice with the white trim. It will look pretty with either pink or blue bedroom decor come May aslso :) I made Kole some eggs for dinner and he ate them fine when I put them on his tray but then a little more than halfway through I decided to give him a fork to hang on to or something (he's been showing interest in silverware lately). Sure enough, as I'm sitting next to him on the computer he's stabbing his eggs and putting them in his mouth with the fork!!! I couldn't believe it, all by himself!! Naturally, I grabbed my camera and waited until he did it again. What a big boy!! Then earlier tonight after he was almost done with his chicken dinner, I gave him another fork. You got it, he stabbed away at the chicken and put a bunch in his mouth. This time though, he KNEW he was doing something cool because he was smiling from ear to ear as I was congratulating him. Yay Kole! Well, the reason I think he decided to eat from his fork was because he cut another 3 teeth in the past two days!!! The two on either side of his top front teeth finally poked through the other day and then today I noticed a baby molar while he was laughing while I changed his diaper---that one was a surprise! Another new one is that when asked where "his baby" or "mommy's baby" is, Kole comes over to me, lifts up my shirt to expose my big belly, makes "nice baby" by rubbing the belly, and then blows a kiss to it. What a good big brother already.!!
Too bad he has NO IDEA what he's in store for (or me for that matter) when the baby finally arrives! We had a lazy day today doing nothing (Seth went ice fishing again this morning). The next new "thing" Kole did today is on a video you'll see below. Needless to say, we will have to do some rearranging with some things in the living room to avoid injury...
Okay, I guess that's all for now....

Ugh, how could I resist this photo op??

Winter is Boring

This Winter is dragging by! I am sick of the grey skies, bare trees, and snowy lawns. I am starting to crave the buds on the trees, a little bit of green color to the ground, and the smell of Spring. Too bad we have many more weeks of the current stuff. Its been an uneventful few weeks at our house. Just playing inside. However, we did make it out for a little trip to the mall a couple of Saturday's ago so Kole could play at the treehouse playground with the other kids. Kole loved it as did I; watching Kole have a blast was all I needed to have fun. Seth on the other hand hated every minute of it. He thought it was filled with too many kids (hello, it was a Saturday afternoon), too many germs and he claims the kids were "pushing" Kole down. I spent a little bit of time with Kole at the treehouse and although there were kids running around and bumping into other kids, Kole was by no means being bullied. I think Seth just wanted to get out of there. Kole had fun though and that's all that counts!

The tent remains up in our living room since Kole goes in it every day. He's been hauling pillows in it himself then falling on them in the tent. He thinks this is hilarious. We read books in the tent too. Jersey also likes the tent. See picture below.

Kole got a new high chair last week. The high chair we had was great except that lately Kole's arm would get severely stuck between the chair and the frame if he leaned his arm out--which he did often to either point to something he dropped or to feed the dog from his hand...(I know, bad habit). In any case after one instance where his poor arm had welts on it from him trying to pull it free I decided to call/email the Graco people and ask them what I could do about this issue. They were very nice and quickly suggested that they replace this chair with another style. I was asked to check it out online or at a local store (display model) to be sure this model would work for us. I let them know what fabric pattern we chose and it was shipped to us the next week! We have to send the old one back. The Graco people sent me a letter as well stating that product safety is their first priority and they were glad to send me a new chair. So...if you have a baby product that might be kind of iffy after some use, it doesn't hurt to check into what the company can do for you :)

Kole is movin' and groovin' these days too. He hears a song from a toy or on Veggie Tales and he's bouncing. He's also been "singing" along with songs. The Alphabet song might be his new favorite.

Baby Davis is doing fine as well. Movin' and groovin' just as much as his/her big brother. I'm still taking it easy but not looking forward to April and May when I won't be able to take care of Kole at all. I hate not being in control of that!! Anyway, the doctor visit last week told us that the heartbeat was good and sounded like that of a girl. That's what they said about Kole too.... We go back next week again for another checkup (two week intervals now).

Seth has been ice fishing almost every weekend that the weather cooperated and he's having fun! He's been keeping the fish and sending them home with his dad. He inherited an ice fishing shanty from Uncle Tim and he's pretty excited about that. Naturally, he'll be going fishing again this weekend. Geez....I need to find something like that that gets me out of the house!! Just wait, I'll get my "revenge" this Summer after the baby comes!!!

Okay, that's it for now. Will keep taking pics and vids and post when I can!
